Project Overview

The iconic Burgas International Congress Center stands as a reference project for high-quality execution of vertical landscaping and architectural stonework by Morion BG. The building represents a benchmark for precision, technical compliance, and durability in large-scale public infrastructure projects.

All ramp gradients were executed in full compliance with technical and accessibility requirements, ensuring safe and functional movement throughout the exterior areas. The selected granite for paving and stair elements was specified at 3 cm thickness, providing the necessary structural strength for heavy public use.

A thermally flamed finish was applied to all exterior surfaces, significantly improving slip resistance and ensuring safe conditions for visitors during rain, frost, and winter conditions. This treatment combines durability with functional safety, making it ideal for high-traffic public environments.

Exterior Granite Works & Safety-Focused Design

The exterior stone concept was developed with a strong focus on functionality, safety, and long-term performance.

  • 3 cm thick natural granite paving and stair elements
  • Thermally flamed anti-slip surface finish
  • Precision-graded ramp execution
  • High durability for intensive public use
  • Weather-resistant exterior stone solutions

Every element was carefully engineered to meet strict technical requirements while maintaining a clean and cohesive architectural appearance.

The result is a robust exterior environment that balances structural performance with refined material aesthetics.

Interior Stone Details & Technical Precision

In addition to the exterior works, the project also included detailed interior stone elements executed with technical accuracy and high-quality finishing.

  • Custom window sill elements in technical stone
  • Interior coping and edge detailing
  • Stone cladding for planter structures
  • Precision-cut architectural components

The use of technical stone ensured consistency, durability, and ease of maintenance within interior areas while maintaining a modern and minimal aesthetic.

These elements contribute to a unified architectural language throughout the building, connecting exterior and interior spaces through consistent material application.

Project Collaboration & Execution

We extend our appreciation to the main contractor STRABAG EAD for their trust and successful collaboration throughout the execution of this landmark project.

The Burgas International Congress Center demonstrates the importance of precise coordination between architects, engineers, and contractors when working with natural stone in large-scale public architecture.

Through careful planning, technical expertise, and high-quality craftsmanship, the project achieves both functional excellence and long-term durability, setting a strong example for future infrastructure developments.
